Introducing... Brinsley Anne

The day finally came! We have her in our arms and loving on her like crazy!! Brinsley's due date was the 4th of July, and I had to wait patiently for 4 days to finally meet her! Here is her birth story~ more for myself and my own memories, not so much for bloggers~ but feel free to read too!

I went in to the doctor for my 40 week apt. on Tuesday and the doctor thought I was basically "ready" to go, just simply a waiting game~ so he did suggest coming in again on Wednesday and he would start by really trying to strip my membranes, and then we would set up for me to go into the hospital and he would induce me. Well, my mom and I had the plan all set up and that is what we were planning on. Wednesday~ I went in at 10 and he did what he wanted and said I was dialated to 3/4 so he would see me at the hospital at 5pm if not before! The rest of the day I contracted, but even went to the pool with Addy! Put her down for a nap and got things all ready, called Jeff and he was ready to come home and shower and go! Well at 4 the hospital called and said that they were really sorry, but they didn't have room for me~ could I wait till 7pm. I was quite bummed, but said that was fine. 6pm they called again and said, sorry we really are too full and can not take you in here unless you are in full out labor on my own~ so maybe we can take you in the morning. I cried, called my mom and decided it was not in God's plan that night for some reason, so that is ok! I got over it, we even went out to Russ', visited Rob at work, went to mom and dad's condo and then came home. I put Addy to bed and made blueberry coffee cake and a fresh Blueberry pie! Went to bed and slept Amazingly!! (thank you Lord for answering prayers!)

Thursday~ woke up, had a cozy morning with Addy, gave her a nice bath~ but had lots of show stuff and funny feelings. Contractions were not huge, so I was just planning on another day of being prego! The hospital called asking if I was coming in, but I thought why? if I wasn't really in labor! Then my doctor called me and talked to me personally and he suggested I come in with everything that I was explaining to him that was going on and he would like to watch me in a controlled environment since he thought maybe I was having some post-labor things going on. SO... Jeff came home, we showered up, got things all together~ Addy went with Aunt Joni, and we were off to the hospital! It was a nice ride, we checked in, got wheeled up to room 104, got changed and into a bed! The doctor came in a little later and when he checked me I was already dialated to a 5! He said for sure I had been laboring since yesterday and was glad I came in! He broke my water and then the waiting game began! After 2 hours~ no contractions really he then gave me pitocin and that definitely started labor! I had some major contractions and they were coming every 3-4 minutes. I was in some nice pain~ so I got my epidural at 4:30 and as soon as that was in~ I was feeling really good! I got checked at 5:30 and was at an 8~ and then again at 6 and by that point I was to a 10 and totally ready to go! The doctor came in, and got everything set up and by 6:25 we got the pushing started! I did 3 or 4 sets of good pushes~ and out she came!!! 6:37 she was born! She weighed 7lbs 13oz. and was 21" long!! It was AMAZING and wonderful! I got to watch in a mirror and Jeffrey helped out so good! The Dr. gave her right to me and I watched Jeff cut her chord! She was so wide awake and soooooo perfect! They wiped her off, weighed and measured her and a minute later she was in my arms and I was loving every piece of her!! What a joy and a miracle!! I got 2 stitches and was feeling great!! Mom and Dad VerWys were out in the waiting room so they came in and got to see her~ then we started our calling and Mom and Dad Huizenga came right up! We had an amazing 1st night together and she did great with trying to breastfeed~ I got to sleep during the night~ as well as bond with her too! My mom took Addy home to our house to sleep in her own bed and that was nice! Jeff headed home to sleep and had to work in the morning.

Friday~ I got Brinsley back in my room around 8 and then kept her here the rest of the day! I was able to feed her, have breakfast, take a shower and get put together before Jeff came back up at around 11 to be here when Addisyn came to meet her baby sister!! She loved on her and really did great with her! We are now a family of 4! What a crazy feeling!! Here are some of the fun pictures to document this unimaginable experience!!
