2 weeks old

We went into the doctor for her 2 week appointment and Brinsley is doing GREAT! She went from 7"10 to 8"3 and is looking good! She is in the 90th % of height, 50th% weight and has a perfect little head! So thankful to God!!

A new kind of LOTION?

We had our friends over for the night on Friday night and Addisyn and Tanner finished eating~ so we let them both down to go play! Well... they happened to go into Addy's room just to play, and we parents sort of forgot about them since they were extra quiet and not disruptive! OOPS!!! Ross went to go check on them and came back saying "grab the camera, but then you'll need something else to clean up!" Amanda and I ran in and found the 2 of them on the floor like this rubbing stuff all over their legs! BUTT PASTE!!!!!! When we asked then what they were doing Tanner nicely says "rubbing lotion on leggies" like duh mom!!!! They both were generously rubbing their legs full of butt paste and absolutely enjoying every minute of it! The whole tub was basically full when it began and then emptied onto their bodies! WE laughed till we cried and then we grabbed them and threw then in the tub! Needless to say, it is not fun stuff to get out of anything let alone carpet~ but oh well! I guess sometimes as a parent you gotta laugh about these things because otherwise you'll cry!! :)

(oh, and no, the butt paste didn't help take care of the hives! I wish!)

Addisyn's FAVORITE man~ mine too!

Lately~ my little girl has become just smitten with a man... DADDY! She is in LOVE with her daddy unlike I ever thought she would be! I know that she loves him, but now she really L O V E S him!!! That is like her most favorite word in the whole world! I hear it ALL day long~ she asks for him right away in the morning, when we have lunch at the table before we pray she asks for his hand to hold, whenever we are driving ANYWHERE she asks to go to daddy's work, if we drive by she almost explodes out of her seat trying to wave at him, and when we have a long afternoon to wait for him to come home from work~ all it is is DADDY?DADDY?DADDY?! What a special bond that nothing could ever replace! (maybe some day her hubby, but for now!!) (Jesus is coming before then anyways!!) I can't explain it in words what it is like to watch this love/bond form~ and I dare say... Daddy feels exactly the same way about his little girl!!!

HIVES oh my!!!

Addisyn came down with the HIVES from something or somewhere that we have no idea! Last week Tuesday she was playing with Jaycee and Jaycee noticed them first in the morning. She showed them to me and I just sort of brushed it off as some bug bites or something~ but then by lunch time she had them on her belly and her back~ big red welt looking things! I sort of freaked out and called the doctor right away and they got me in to be seen in the afternoon. The 2 doctors there didn't really know what to call them~ sent me home telling me to give her benadryll. We did that and they sort of left, but came back in other places. The next morning they were even worse!!! I had a dr. appt for Brinsley that day so Addy came with me! ( I conquered the doctors office all by myself with the 2!!! yeah me!) And the dr. just said to keep doing the Benadryll! Well the next day she started to poof up like a marshmallow all over her body and her face was a war zone~ so I called and asked to be seen again! So, finally the dr. gave her a steriod and sent us home! Poor baby! It is week 2 and 2 days right now and she still has some that show up here and there! I don't have any clue or any idea where these are coming from~ I just thank God that they aren't taking over my sweet daughter's personality or manner~ they only itch once in a while! I just wish we knew what caused them! Oh well, I guess we just wait it out!!

Our Trip to the ZOO!!

On Saturday last weekend~ we went to Binder Park Zoo for Addisyn and Brinsley's first trip to a zoo! It was a hot muggy 90 degree day and we were still crazy people and went! We left our house around 9:30 and met up with the Schipper crew and we followed each other there! It was so much fun seeing the world through our Addy's eyes! She just LOVED all the animals~ even if they were hard to see! She was amazing, and Brinsley just went along for the ride! We had a picnic lunch right when we got there and then spent the rest of the afternoon in the park! Addy's favorite animal was the Monkey and then the Giraffe who she got to feed! That was too cool!!! We left the part and not even 2 minutes down the road~ miss Addy was out!! What a great day!!

Big Sister Addy!

Many people ask me~ how is Addisyn doing with the new baby? Well, if you can see from these pictures~ she is doing actually really well! She loves to check on her sister in her crib-which usually leads to Brinsley waking up! :) She loves to "help" feed her a bottle~ and kiss her on her head whenever she can! She is a good helper and loves to find Brinsley's paci's and bring them to her and shove them in her mouth for her! She loves to sit on the changing table with her while I change her diapers! She gives her nice pats on the back to help her burp~ and she shh's people when she thinks Brinsley is sleeping~ yet is louder than all get out herself!! :) I am very proud of Addisyn and how she is handling a new baby being around~ yet we do have our moments where she totally acts out because she is not getting the attention she once had! These moments always seem to come when I am tied up with Brinsley and can't do much about it! Who is the smart one?? We are having a great time getting to know what it is like to have 2 and can only hope and pray that this thing called SISTERS gets better and better with time!!
